Prices checked October 8, 2026.
Flat-rate range to install LVP flooring: $1,000 at $75 an hour, $1,120 at $95, $1,300 at $125

LVP is priced by room size in the book, not per square foot, and the spread is huge: 6 hours and $420 for a room under 120 sq ft, up to 26 hours and $2,200 for a 450-900 sq ft whole floor. Materials are the biggest line, so the markup policy matters as much as the rate. Labor-only (customer supplies the flooring) is a separate row and prices very differently.

What the flat rate covers

  • Install LVP, room up to 120 sq ft. Install click-lock luxury vinyl plank with underlayment in a room up to 120 square feet; mid-grade material.
  • Install LVP, room 120-250 sq ft. Install LVP with underlayment in a mid-size room from 120 to 250 square feet.
  • Install LVP, open area 250-450 sq ft. Install LVP with underlayment across an open area from 250 to 450 square feet.
  • Install LVP, whole floor 450-900 sq ft. Install rigid-core LVP across 450-900 sq ft with transitions, T-molds, and stair noses.
  • Install LVP, glue-down, room up to 120 sq ft. Full-spread adhesive LVP installed and rolled over a prepped concrete or below-grade subfloor.
  • Install LVP, each additional room same visit, up to 120 sq ft. Discounted labor for each additional room installed the same visit after the first; material priced the same.
  • Install LVP you supply — labor only, room up to 120 sq ft. Install customer-supplied LVP in a room up to 120 square feet, including underlayment.

What moves the price

  • Subfloor. Flatness and moisture decide whether click-lock LVP works. A glue-down install on concrete is its own row.
  • Square footage with waste. Price the material for the actual area plus waste, not the nominal room size.
  • Transitions, stairs and trim. They are separate rows. A "floor" quote that forgets them is a loss.

Add-ons to put on the quote

These are separate rows in the same book, priced at the $95 sample rate. Put the ones that apply on the quote so they are lines, not arguments.

How these numbers are built

QuoteIron’s price book stores structure: typical labor hours and a mid-grade parts cost for each job (book priced 2026-09). Your rates do the pricing: hours × your hourly rate, plus parts at cost with your markup, rounded up to the next $5. The low, typical and high figures use $75, $95 and $125 an hour at the book’s default 30% markup. They are formula outputs, not a survey of what your market pays, so replace them with your own rate and markup before you send anything. Prices checked October 8, 2026.

FAQ

What flat rate should I charge to install LVP flooring?

In QuoteIron's price book the primary job (install lvp, room up to 120 sq ft) is 6 hours of labor plus $420 of parts. At $95 an hour and a 30% parts markup that prices to $1,120; at $75 an hour it is $1,000 and at $125 an hour $1,300. These are formula outputs from the book, not a market survey. Set your own rate and markup before you quote.

How many labor hours should I budget to install LVP flooring?

The book carries 6 hours for "install lvp, room up to 120 sq ft"; 10 hours for "install lvp, room 120-250 sq ft"; 16 hours for "install lvp, open area 250-450 sq ft"; 26 hours for "install lvp, whole floor 450-900 sq ft"; 7 hours for "install lvp, glue-down, room up to 120 sq ft"; 4.5 hours for "install lvp, each additional room same visit, up to 120 sq ft"; 6 hours for "install lvp you supply — labor only, room up to 120 sq ft". Treat them as typical starting points for a straightforward site; adjust for access, height, condition and anything the customer has not told you.

Should I charge flat rate or hourly to install LVP flooring?

Flat rate, in most cases. At the book's sample numbers the typical price works out to about $187 per labor hour once parts and markup are in, and 51% of the price is labor. A flat number set before you start means a fast day earns you more instead of costing you the sale, and the customer is not watching a clock. Hourly makes sense only when the scope is genuinely unknown.

What should I add to the quote so I do not absorb extras on install LVP flooring?

The book lists these as separate rows for this trade: sound/impact-rated (IIC/STC) underlayment upgrade, per room ($175); install transition strips, thresholds & marble saddles, up to three ($205); install baseboard, one room ($400); undercut door jambs & trim doors, up to six openings ($170). Put the ones that apply on the quote as lines, or as Better and Best options, instead of discovering them mid-job. See the Good/Better/Best set on this page.
