QuoteIron › Painting price book › Paint Kitchen Cabinets
Cabinet work is a labor-hours job: 20 hours brushed or 40 spraying with the doors off, for up to 30 doors and drawers. Parts are only $260-$500 of paint, primer and supplies, so the rate you set and a clear door count decide the price. Spraying costs more hours in the book because of masking and drying, but it earns the finish customers are comparing you against.

The range: each version of the job at three labor rates
One search, several jobs. The book separates them by size or method, so quote the one that matches the site. All at a 30% parts markup, rounded up to $5:
| Job | Hours / parts | At $75/hr | At $95/hr | At $125/hr |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Paint kitchen cabinets, brushed finish (up to 30 doors & drawers) | 20h / $260 | $1,840 | $2,240 | $2,840 |
| Spray-finish kitchen cabinets, doors off (up to 30 doors & drawers) | 40h / $500 | $3,650 | $4,450 | $5,650 |
What the flat rate covers
- Paint kitchen cabinets, brushed finish (up to 30 doors & drawers). Clean, sand, prime, and finish standard kitchen cabinet doors and face frames in two coats of cabinet enamel; hardware removed and reset.
- Spray-finish kitchen cabinets, doors off (up to 30 doors & drawers). Doors off and numbered, degreased, bonding-primed, and sprayed to a factory finish; boxes brushed in place.
What moves the price
- Count doors and drawers. The row covers up to 30 together. Beyond that, the book has per-door adders; do not absorb the extras.
- Prep is the job. Degrease, sand, prime. Skipping steps is how callbacks happen on cabinets, because the surface takes daily abuse.
- Cure time. The kitchen is unusable or restricted for days. Put the schedule on the quote so you are not negotiating it at the end.
Add-ons to put on the quote
These are separate rows in the same book, priced at the $95 sample rate. Put the ones that apply on the quote so they are lines, not arguments.
| Add-on | Hours / parts | Price at $95/hr |
|---|---|---|
| Each additional cabinet door or drawer beyond 30, brushed | 0.5h / $6 | $60 |
| Each additional cabinet door or drawer beyond 30, sprayed | 1h / $10 | $110 |
| Replace cabinet hardware during cabinet paint job | 2h / $15 | $210 |
| Paint bathroom vanity cabinet | 6h / $70 | $665 |
| Louvered or raised-panel door upcharge, per door | 0.75h / $5 | $80 |
How to present it: Good, Better, Best
Offer three options on one quote and let the customer choose. Each is a sum of real book rows at the $95 sample rate. Better is the brushed finish plus new hardware installed; Best moves to the sprayed, doors-off finish with the hardware swap.

How these numbers are built
QuoteIron’s price book stores structure: typical labor hours and a mid-grade parts cost for each job (book priced 2026-09). Your rates do the pricing: hours × your hourly rate, plus parts at cost with your markup, rounded up to the next $5. The low, typical and high figures use $75, $95 and $125 an hour at the book’s default 30% markup. They are formula outputs, not a survey of what your market pays, so replace them with your own rate and markup before you send anything. Prices checked October 8, 2026.
