What QuoteIQ does that QuoteIron does not

QuoteIQ is the broader product. Its AI Estimator turns a written or spoken job description and up to five photos into line items, with confidence flags and upsell suggestions. Its AI Autopilot can read and change the account through 55 tools, and it asks for confirmation before it runs. Its InstaQuote page lets a customer build their own quote, and its ClientHub gives the business a second phone number for texts and calls.

The AI is the part to test yourself. Only three of the 500 newest App Store reviews we read mentioned AI at all, and one 1-star review from October 10, 2026 said the AI was "down constantly." We found no independent accuracy test.

What QuoteIron does that QuoteIQ does not

QuoteIron starts with the price book already built. It has 1100+ job templates across 14 trades, from electrical and plumbing to junk removal and pool maintenance. You set your labor rate, markup and rounding once, and every row prices itself. There is no credit meter to watch, so a busy month does not change what a quote costs you.

Pro is $15.99 a month, or $159.99 a year, with one price regardless of how many people use the account. Payments run through Stripe card processing, with ACH bank payments on Pro. The app is built in native iOS design. The free tier covers five jobs a month without a card.

QuoteIron also has less. It has no AI estimating, no satellite measuring, no customer self-quote page, no business texting number and no crew dispatch.

Price for one person

For a shop with one person, QuoteIQ's cheapest paid plan is Essentials at $29.99 a month, with one user and 500 credits. Each AI estimate costs 5 to 15 of those credits, and an AI auto-measure costs 100. Pro, which adds the business texting number and QuoteIQ's QuickBooks Online sync, is $199.99 a month for up to four users.

QuoteIron Pro is $15.99 a month, and the free tier covers five jobs a month with no card. The comparison is not only about price. If you want the software to write the estimate, QuoteIron does not do that. If you want to price from your own numbers, QuoteIQ's AI is not the tool you need.

Who should pick which

Pick QuoteIQ if you want AI to turn a text or photo description into a draft estimate, you measure lawns and roofs from the map often, you want a business number for texts and calls, or you want customers to self-quote from a web page. Budget for the credits on top of the plan price.

Pick QuoteIron if you want a price book already built for your trade, one price with no users or credits to count, card and bank payments, and an app you use to quote from your phone. You write the estimate from your own numbers, and the book does the arithmetic.

Pick neither yet if you run a crew that needs dispatch and routing. QuoteIQ has dispatch and route optimization on Elite and above. QuoteIron does not have crew dispatch.

Before you switch

QuoteIron's free tier needs no card, so you can build your book and quote a few jobs before you pay anything. QuoteIQ's trial asks for a card up front, and it draws from the same credit pool as the paid plans. QuoteIQ says data export requires an active subscription, so export your customers and jobs before you cancel anything.

STRAIGHT ANSWERS

FAQ

Is QuoteIQ cheaper than QuoteIron?

For one user, QuoteIQ's cheapest paid plan, Essentials, is $29.99 a month with 500 AI credits, and its trial asks for a card. QuoteIron is free for 5 jobs a month with no card, and Pro is $15.99 a month or $159.99 a year. Price alone does not decide it. The real question is whether you want AI estimating and measuring, which QuoteIron does not offer.

Does QuoteIron have AI estimating?

No. QuoteIron builds quotes from its flat-rate price book, which has 1100+ job templates across 14 trades that you edit to your own rates. It does not read photos or written descriptions to produce line items.

Does QuoteIQ charge per user?

Its plans include a set number of users, from one on Essentials to 20 on Max. Extra users cost $25 a month each, as of its pricing page updated September 15, 2026.

Which is better for a one-person shop?

If you want a price book that is ready on day one and no credits to track, QuoteIron fits. If you want AI estimates and measuring and will pay credits on top of the plan, QuoteIQ fits. The answer depends on whether you want software to write the estimate or to price it from your own numbers.
